Non-compliance with DSNY Composting can result in the following penalties:

  • DSNY fines: $25 (1–8 units) / $100 (9+ units), with enforcement currently narrowed to larger buildings.

Exemptions

  • Non-residential properties follow separate commercial carting/recycling rules.
