What the law requires
- File or renew the annual property registration with HPD.
- Designate a managing agent who is a natural person residing in New York.
- Update the registration within 5 business days if ownership or managing agent changes.
- Distribute the registration receipt (HPD Form RP-1) to tenants and post in the lobby.
